Step back in time with this truly exceptional and rare Art Nouveau vase, a testament to the exquisite craftsmanship of the early 1900s. This stunning piece features a unique combination of milk glass and cranberry glass, adorned with intricate gold floral enamel. Its distinctive shape and the masterful glass blowing required for its creation have astounded two expert appraisers, with one believing it to be early 1900s American Art Glass, crafted in the elegant style of Bohemian Art Glass, itself reflecting Japanese ornamentation.
The second appraiser, associated with the Antiques Roadshow, even suggested the possibility of it being a Moser piece made for American import, recommending further authentication by the Corning Museum of Glass or the Toledo Museum of Art. While its precise origins are still being explored, its estimated value ranges between $400 and $700, with potential for even higher valuation pending museum assessment.
This vase carries a rich history, having been acquired by my Great-Great Aunt and Uncle during their well-documented journeys by horse and carriage across early industrial America between 1905 and 1912. Standing 9.5 inches tall with a 4.5-inch diameter, it's a magnificent display piece. The only imperfection is a tiny, almost imperceptible chip on the upper gilded rim, clearly shown in the product pictures, which in no way detracts from its immense beauty and historical significance. Perfect for the discerning collector, a unique wedding gift, or an unforgettable anniversary present.
